GST State Code 97 — Other Territory

What does GST state code 97 mean?

Every 15-character GSTIN starts with a 2-digit state code. A GSTIN that begins with 97 is registered in Other Territory. The next 10 characters are the business's PAN, followed by the entity number, the letter "Z" and a checksum digit.

Example: 97ABCDE1234F1Z5 → registered in Other Territory, PAN ABCDE1234F.
